Teehee, I watched DWL the other night for the first time in ages. The movie is underrated IMO. And the blooper reel is hilarious. I love the bit where Sarah Paulson whispers into the camera something like "This is the last time I'm gonna get to kiss DHP so I'm hoping he's gonna slip me a little tongue!" Nearly wet myself laughing. ;D

I tell ya, 2004 brought the really bad hurricanes here and while it was storming outside, I watched "Down With Love" - I'll never forget it. There's just something about DHP and storms, very hot Ah, Vickie and Peter!! Incredible. I feel in love with their chemistry immediately! Great stuff.. as for favorite quotes: "Barbara?" "Vickie?" "Nancy!" -Catch "Who are you calling Nancy?!" -Peter "I've never used the word "spinster" in my life. Okay, once, when I told my mother it was technically incorrect to call her son a spinster." -Peter

There's a thread on BroadwayWorld right now about how Down With Love would translate beautifully into a Broadway musical ... I have to agree! The largeness and campness of it didn't quite work on film, but it could be a quite brilliant stage production. With DHP reprising his role as Peter, obviously.

It's ideal for a stage musical, frothy and camp and wonderful. Marc Shaiman who wrote the excellent score for the movie, and at least one song, could be brought in as composer. Of course David would reprise his role as Peter. And what about Ewen McGregor as well? He played Sky Masterson in 'Guys and Dolls' in the West End. Someone should seriously do this.

Finally got round to watching the bath scene, hello , as much as I like Ewan McGregor I always thought there should at least be a small scene of David shirtless

There's a tiny glimpse in the DWL DVD extras of a between shots scene where David is stood with the two leading ladies and they're laughing and one of them goes to lean her head on his shoulder. And it's obvious that they all got along really well and that the actresses were very fond of David and I think that's so sweet. Just like when Jane Leeves says in the extras for the final Frasier season that she would like to wrap David up and take him home as her souvenir of the show. Now there's a lady with taste!
