I've been watching Season 6 again recently and reminding myself of how cute DHP is when he plays Niles as sad and hurt. You know the big eyes and quivery voice that make your heart melt. There's the "cherry bark and almonds" moment in 'To Tell The Truth' when he first sees Daphne with Donny. And, even more touching is the proposal scene in 'Visions of Daphne' when poor Niles is devastated by what is unfolding before him. That look when he is trapped on the sofa between Frasier and Martin is so heartbreaking.
Does anyone else have any favourite Niles 'little lost boy' moments?

You're right naughtystudent - that childlike quality is a big part of his appeal. One of my fave moments is probably 'An Affair To Forget' - Niles turning up at Frasier's after finding out about Maris's 'affair' with Gunnar, and doing that comic/heartbreaking crybaby face.

Also again in ` To Tell The Truth` when N and F sit back down in cafe and F puts his hand on N shoulder, Niles face its heartbreaking also.

Naughtystudent, I too can't get over how cute DHP is when he plays Niles as sad and hurt. I have one favorite moment which I could recall that he's making the frowny face and gets the big eyes. You have no idea how loudly I go "Aww!" over that one.

I LOVE these faces. It sounds weird now that I think about it, but I think he looks really cute when he has one of those faces on. It makes me just want to hug him.
