That bit is quite memorable for me because it really sold me on Frasier. I was in Golden Discs on Grafton St, Dublin (since closed down - sob!) in the summer of 2004 and they were playing the S1 DVDs on their big screen. I'd seen Frasier before a handful of times, but when Niles delivered that line it was the first time I went "oooh ... look at him." And then Frasier made a joke about a watch fob and I just thought "I'm going to love this show." Very interesting story! I don't if I've ever heard two Frasier fans cite the same episode as the one that really drew them into the show. It just shows how it maintained its quality, for the most part, for eleven years. (Yes, I'd defend seasons 9 and 10 and, to a lesser extent, season 8, but this probably isn't the right thread for that.)

The Apparent Trap Love the scene where Freddy has just told Niles that Frasier and Lilith are "getting back together", and he comes storming down the corridor and says "What's this joyous news I hear?!"

Reading this thread has made me realize how much I really need to buy the rest of the seasons on DVD. So far I only own season 10 I feel so inferior because I can't remember all the names of the episodes lol. Anyway, I do agree with a lot of what has been said so far. "My Coffee with Niles" is indeed a wonderful episode. It's interesting to see Frasier sit down and think about how his move to Seattle has impacted his life and if he's happy with the way all has turned out. I also love that he won't settle for anything but perfection, even with his coffee! Other than that, the last episodes I watched were "The Shutout in Seattle" parts 1 and 2. I do love those two episodes. I really enjoy the Faye/ Cassandra mix-ups, and Niles with Kit. Last night I watched "Guns N' Neuroses", which is so great. "I think the banana just went off!" As many times as I've seen some of these episodes, they're still funny.

My roommate was watching SBSB this morning. Have seen this way too many times but I still love the moment where they dance. The most wonderful N/D moments, for me, are the restrained, angsty ones.

Mmmm... SBSB. I think it might be time for me to watch that again. I love when they dance too. Oh, when Niles closes his eyes... And the music is by Gershwin and you hear two of my favourite songs. The first song when they dance is They can't take that away from me and when they change partners and look wistful, it's Our love is hear to stay. Here's the first and last verse. It's the perfect song for them. It's very clear Our love is here to stay ; Not for a year But ever and a day.In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibralter may tumble, There're only made of clay, But our love is here to stay.

"Too much; here's your change." I love Niles (obviously), but the boy's lovesick desperation was pitiful sometimes. It was adorably pitiful, but pitiful nonetheless. I'll wrap this around to the SBSB discussion and say that it was about time Niles and Daphne got together by then. It became painful to watch the depths to which unrequited love drove this wonderful man; I just wanted to scream "End his agony already!!".
