I love the VENEER! scene too. Funny, and quite nice to see all the Crane men bonding. I agree. I'm becoming more impressed with season seven as I watch it again. I think I was in such a hurry to get to "Something Borrowed, Someone Blue" initially that I didn't appreciate the rest of the episodes.

And as a George Eliot fan, I appreciated the allusion to Middlemarch. I can just see Niles loving that book.

I love the theatre analogies too...and the front and back covers have come off my copy of Middlemarch. I need a new copy! Always love when Niles mentions it, and bore people pointing this out.

Always love when Niles mentions it, and bore people pointing this out. It's been only about a week, but I'm already having so much fun here. We all do seem to have more in common than just Frasier/DHP. I'm not surprised many of us love reading and have similar taste in literature. That goes hand in hand with liking the show. It would be interesting to speculate about the favorite books or authors of the characters. We can assume it's Middlemarch for Niles, but what of the others? I'd like to think Niles helped expand Daphne's taste beyond self-help books and Honey Snow.

Frasier probably reads very 'difficult' modern authors, don't you think? Less traditional than Niles in that way, and very anxious to see himself as cutting edge.
Martin reads Raymond Chandler, Dashiel Hammett.
And yes, I agree, we do all seem to get on really well!
Ooh and (just to keep on topic), my last Niles fix was Author Author - "Oh good, we could use a second sentence"

The proposal - Niles is so funny when hes in Nervosa and he's trying to get through his propsal with out crying , and when he does the actual thing he's so sweet even though he mentions Daphnes crusty nose which isnt the most romantic thing in the world . And i love the hug at the end .
