Little piece HERE about the New York Memory Walk taking place today to raise funds to fight Alzheimer's. Thousands of New Yorkers are gathering in Riverside Park today to join the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
The 21st-annual Memory Walk is beginning at West 103rd Street and Riverside Drive, following a ceremony featuring jazz and Broadway performances.
Actor David Hyde Pierce will be among the performers taking part.
Organizers expect the two-mile walk to raise $1 million for the Alzheimer's Association.
The money will go towards the group's programs and services, as well as treatments and research for a cure. Raging! I wish I'd known about this, I'd have got up in time to go have a look ...

A little report from NewsDay.com. Apparently the NY walk alone raised $1m, and David sang 'New York New York.'

A little report from NewsDay.com. Apparently the NY walk alone raised $1m, and David sang 'New York New York.' Well done to the NY walk. "David sang 'New York New York'". What I would give to hear that! That song is special to me. My brother-in-law is a singer of that type of song and he always sings it for me.
