Very nice review from the NY Times too. Thanks for that IM. I'm particularly interested in Stephen Holden's comparison of David Hyde Pierce with Buster Keaton. When I was last in NY an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art included a showing of a Buster Keaton short 'One Week'. In this Buster Keaton tries to build a kit house with hilarious results. I was immediately struck by how much the mixture of exquisite physical comedy and deadpan reminded me of David. Also delighted they included the Gertrude Lawrence song, 'The Physician'. Yes I know and love this song too. “He said my bronchial tubes were entrancing,/My epiglottis filled him with glee./He simply loved my larynx/And went wild about my pharynx/But he never said he loved me.” They don't write em like that any more! As I'm having ongoing ENT treatment just now, this should be my theme song.

Sorry, I'm having a discussion with myself about this event in two separate locations, just to confuse you.
Just read the excellent review of the concert in Variety.com recently posted on the news page of this website - many thanks!
I'm getting more and more fed up that I didn't get the chance to see this. David played piano too! What more can I say.
I've been thinking - wouldn't it be wonderful if a TV company took this up and produced as a one off special, starring Victoria Clark and David Hyde Pierce and the same band. It sounds as though this deserves a wider audience, and we would all get the chance to see it.

As I mentioned quite awhile ago, I really, really want to hear David play the piano. This seems like one of the only sort of venues where that might be possible.
