I'm just so attached to Niles Crane that I think of him as a real being. Isn't that weird? Hmmm...I don't think it's really weird. Isn't that why people become emotionally invested in books, tv, film and the characters portrayed there? On some level, of course we know it's pretend, but no one would keep watching if they didn't let themselves buy into the reality of the world a little. I agree. I think it's especially true of TV characters, because they literally come into your home every week for years and years. You do form a relationship (an unrequited one, obviously ).

I'm coming to find that I prefer tv to movies, and I think this is the reason. Sure, the majority of television is total junk, but when it's good, it draws you in and never lets you go. We all wouldn't be interacting on this forum if that weren't true.
